Project description:
AdriACTIVE establishes a cross-border tourist route connecting Italy and Croatia, based on the principles of sustainable, regenerative and active tourism. The aim is to reduce pressure on the coast, promote smaller destinations and engage local communities through training, pilot activities and digital tools.
The project emphasises participatory planning, the transformation of existing cultural spaces into HUBs, and the development of concrete products and itineraries. The Regional Development Agency DUNEA is the lead partner for the preparation of the cross-border active tourism plan. This strategy includes defining the methodology for the development, promotion and management of the itinerary, based on ecological and social sustainability principles. It also includes a plan for integrating new destinations and services and mechanisms for the long-term capitalisation of results.
Special emphasis is placed on a participatory approach involving relevant stakeholders on both sides of the border, including associated partners. In addition to the strategic level, the Regional Development Agency DUNEA is responsible for implementing pilot activities in Vidonje, which will become one of the main hubs of the cross-border itinerary.
